Please
contact FFF with any
suggestions for fundraising activities, or
email the FFF Volunteer Coordinator to express your interest in
helping as a volunteer. We are ALWAYS in need of people to head up new
fundraisers for FFF, so any help in this area would be greatly
appreciated.
During the holiday season (starting right after Thanksgiving), FFF
volunteers gift wrap books at several area Barnes & Noble locations in
exchange for donations. A large number of volunteers are ALWAYS needed
to help with this important fundraiser. Shifts are only a few hours each
- bring a friend or co-worker for company! If you want to help FFF, but
have trouble finding the time, this is a great way to spend only a few
hours to help with one of our biggest fundraisers! Please
email our volunteer coordinator to
volunteer for a specific time slot, or to be
notified of updates.

Each time you shop through iGive, a portion of your purchase is donated to FFF. Hundreds of online stores are listed, so please consider
doing all of your online shopping through iGive.
There is no charge to join
iGive, and by using the link below (click on the iGive logo), you will
automatically register FFF to receive a donation from iGive for a
portion of each purchase you make through their site.
Please save your old ink jet
printer cartridges & cell phones and turn them in to FFF at any meeting or event,
including cat shows or spay/neuter clinics. We will recycle them to
raise money for our feral cat programs. You can also mail cartridges or
phones to FFF, bring them to one of our meetings, or give them to an FFF volunteer when borrowing or returning traps
or carriers.
Almost all ink jet cartridges are
accepted, but no Epson cartridges.
More Info
Local Cat Shows (usually
held in February,
April, December)
Stop by our FFF booth at
Charlotte area cat shows! FFF volunteers have an information booth
to answer questions about feral cats and how you can help ferals in your
area.
We also sell HOME-MADE BAKED GOODS and CAT RELATED CRAFTS,
with all proceeds to benefit local feral cats.
Volunteers are needed to bake
items and to donate cat related
items for FFF to sell during the shows. Please
email FFF
if you would like to make
baked goods, such as cookies, breads, muffins, fudge, dessert bars, or any
similar homemade items, or if you have any cat-related items (either items
for cats, or items with cat designs) to donate for our sale.
Please check back
often for dates of local cat shows at which FFF will
have a booth.
Charlotte Area Festivals & Special Events
In exchange for tips and a portion of the sales, FFF has been given the
opportunity to staff beverage booths at several different Charlotte area
festivals throughout the year. Having dependable volunteers helps us to
be invited to participate again the following year, so volunteers are
always needed. Please
email our volunteer coordinator to be
notified when scheduling for each festival begins. As with the book
wrapping, shifts are only a few hours each, and you are always welcome
to sign up together with friends or co-workers.
In 2008, we participated in these events, and we expect to be invited
back in 2009:
Food Lion Speed Street
(Uptown Charlotte at end of May 2008)
Blues, Brews & BBQ
(South End area in September 2008)
FFF Items for Sale on eBay
FFF
is selling items
online through eBay auctions as a fundraiser. Please check to see
what we have to offer, and help us spread the word.
** Our eBay fundraiser
is temporarily on hold as we search for a new volunteer to head up this
venture. Please
contact FFF to volunteer **
eBay Donations Needed
To donate items in good condition for FFF
to sell on eBay, please
contact us. We ask that items be in excellent condition and a size that will be
easy to ship.
FFF Annual Yard Sale - 2009 date to be announced
FFF has held our annual yard sale each year to raise some much-needed
funds for our organization. Since we do not have a shelter or
storefront, we do need someone to come forward to hold a yard sale on
their property. If your area has a community-wide yard sale, this would
be a perfect time. Please email FFF if you are willing to volunteer to
hold a yard sale. We will provide the volunteers to work the sale, price
the items, set everything out, pack up afterward, etc.
Since we do not yet have a date for 2009, and we do not have a storage
facility, we are not accepting donations at this time. Please consider
holding onto items in good condition that may be appropriate for our
yard sale, and check back here, hopefully around March, to see if we are
accepting items yet. Donate items you no longer need to help
raise money for feral cats! Items should be in good, gently used
condition.
We will most likely not accept: mattresses,
window blinds, soft cover books, dirty or chipped/broken items, candles (unless
they are NEW), soiled/torn
clothing, electrical equipment that does not
have all required cords, computers monitors (flatscreen monitors
accepted) or keyboards
Quilt Raffle
Cat T-shirt donations needed
for the T-shirt quilt we will be creating and raffling as a fundraiser.
Please call our hotline at 704-348-1578 or
email FFF if you have a cat T-shirt
to donate.
Charlotte Harkey of Quilt Patch Fabrics in
Matthews had kindly donated her time again to put together a quilt for FFF to raffle as a fundraiser.
Fund a Feral program
We had hoped to start a program designed to help people sponsor
particular feral cats in need, but we were unable to find a coordinator
to head this program. To volunteer your time to head the program, please
contact us through email or our hotline at 704-348-1578.
Important
Warning!
FFF
would like to remind the public that feral cats are wild animals and
should never be underestimated. Use extreme caution when handling
feral cats! Any fees, injuries, and/or damages that occur as a result of
interaction with feral/domestic cats are the responsibility of the individual(s) handling the cat(s). Friends of Feral Felines and its
representatives are in no way liable.
